Terms
In effect from 3 September 2026.
Foldsheet is free to use. One optional purchase, $19.99 once, lets you edit Microsoft Publisher files. No subscription, no renewal.
Your documents are yours and live on your computer. We can't see them, so we also can't recover them: keep backups the way you would for any file.
Not happy with the purchase? Reply to the receipt within 30 days and we refund it.
The free app
You may use Foldsheet for anything lawful, at home or at work, for as many documents as you like. What you make with it belongs to you.
Foldsheet is provided as it is. We work to keep it reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Check a page before you print two hundred copies.
Publisher files
Opening a Publisher (.pub) file converts it inside your browser. The result is close but not identical: fonts you don't have are swapped for look-alikes, and a note lists what changed. Editing the converted file is what the unlock is for; looking at it is free.
The Publisher unlock
- Price: $19.99, paid once. The price for future buyers may change; what you paid never does, and there is nothing further to pay.
- What it is: the email address you bought with can unlock Foldsheet in the browsers you use. The unlock is for you, on your computers. An office that shares one computer can leave it unlocked on that computer.
- What it isn't: a licence to unlock a whole building. If you need Foldsheet for several people, write to us; an organisation option is on the way.
- Refunds: within 30 days of purchase, reply to the receipt email and say so. No questions.
- Payment: handled by Polar, the seller of record. Their terms apply to the payment itself; these terms apply to Foldsheet.
Fair use of the service
Don't try to break into Foldsheet, flood it with requests, or use the code emails or the problem-report form for anything but their purpose. We may block a connection or an address that does.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Foldsheet's liability to you for anything arising from the app or the unlock is limited to the amount you paid us, which for the free app is nothing. We are not liable for lost documents, lost work or lost printing costs. (Please keep backups. We really can't get your files back.)
Trademarks
Foldsheet is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft. Microsoft and Publisher are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. No ads, no tracking; the one cookie there is remembers that you unlocked your Publisher files.
Organisations
A subscription for offices and schools, with a web edition of the bulletin, is planned but not yet offered. Its terms will be added here when it exists; nothing here changes for the one-time unlock.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when. A change that affects what you bought will be announced on the front page before it applies.
